Help decision makers develop effective policies and programs to ensure the state's drinking water utilities deliver safe, reliable drinking water in a sustainable, affordable, and environmentally responsible manner as the Water Policy Advisor for the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin!

This position monitors policies and trends in utility issues, researches and tracks impacts of key utility policies, researches and tracks legislative developments, helps develop key policy direction for the Division of Water Utility Regulation and Analysis (DWURA) at the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSC), and assists in the Division's public and stakeholder communication efforts. This position is responsible for creating useful tools, presentations and materials that will help expand Commission, utility, and public understanding of complex utility and regulatory issues. Further, this position will advice the Commissioners' Office on optimal policy directions for water utility regulation, economic development, and utility customer service in Wisconsin.

This position interacts and works with a diverse group of professional staff across divisions within the Public Service Commission and serves as the agency's external liaison with outside agencies and stakeholders on drinking water issues. This position provides the opportunity to conduct meaningful work on emerging issues that touch the lives of people across the state!

This position is in pay schedule-range 81-03 with a salary of $63,240-$81,868 annually, depending on qualifications, plus great benefits. A twelve-month probationary period will be required. Pay for current state employees or those with reinstatement eligibility will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin Compensation Plan.
